FOLUSA has honored the Friends of the Richard Bland College Library with the 2008 National Friends of Libraries Week Award in the Academic Friends Group category for their exceptional efforts to promote and celebrate NFOL Week. Library Director Dr. Virginia Cherry was first to hear of the win from FOLUSA and praised the Friends for their continued support of the Library: “What wonderful, wonderful news! The Friends will be so excited to be recognized for all their hard work as well as receiving the additional funds. With the current economic situation, the check for $250.00 will certainly help the Friends of the RBC Library carry on their outstanding programs and support the Library with needed purchases.”
