Pecan Harvest Begins at Richard Bland College of William & Mary

The annual pecan harvest at Richard Bland College of William & Mary will begin on Wednesday, November 6, and continue through Friday, November 22, from 9:00am to 5:00pm each day. During this time, the community is welcome to visit the grove and gather pecans, but safety requires that visitors steer clear of active harvest sites.

Home to the largest and oldest pecan grove in Virginia, with nearly 1,000 pecan trees, the College began harvesting pecans in 2013. Proceeds from sales are used to maintain the health and productivity of the trees and to support student success. “The College is committed to protecting and preserving this natural treasure, which is a signature feature of the RBC campus,” says President Debbie Sydow.
