Rebecca Dovi
Bio:
Ms. Dovi is the granddaughter of Colonel James M. Carson, Richard Bland College’s first President. She is a graduate of William & Mary with a BS in mathematics. She then completed extensive post graduate coursework in computer science at Virginia Tech and Virginia Commonwealth University. Ms. Dovi has taught high school computer science for 20 years. She was among 10 secondary school teachers nationwide selected to pilot the new CS Principles course under development by CollegeBoard. In Virginia, she serves as the founding president of the CSTA (Computer Science Teachers Association) – Central Virginia chapter and represents Virginia nationally in the CSTA Leadership Cohort. Ms. Dovi is the Chief Education Officer for CodeVA, a non-profit organization that advocates for meaningful and intentional implementation of computer science standards and to craft policy that ensures the state’s future competitive workforce continues to lead the nation and the world.
