For Immediate Release: July 3, 2024
Contact: Jesse Vaughan, Chief Communications & Marketing Officer/jvaughan@rbc.edu
Beginning July 1, the Financial Aid Office at Richard Bland College of William & Mary (RBC) is offering free FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) assistance to prospective and current RBC students, as well as non-RBC students.
“The FAFSA can be daunting and challenging to navigate, especially for first-time students,” said Lisa Johnson, RBC Director of Financial Aid. “Additionally, the 2024-2025 FAFSA application has brought substantial changes to the application process.
“With the additional resources provided by the U.S. Department of Education, our office will execute this initiative to help students at RBC and beyond.”
Johnson and her staff will guide students on the ins-and-outs of the FAFSA form, so they feel empowered and can look forward to having access to postsecondary education.
Beginning July 1, 2024, the Financial Aid Office will be available on campus and virtually to assist students Monday through Wednesday, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Staff will also be available on Saturday, July 20, July 27, August 10 and August 17 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Additional after hours are available upon request.
After August 31, however, the Financial Aid Office will only be available during normal college hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
