As Amanda Archer approached her high school graduation with a 4.8 GPA, she had no idea where she wanted to continue her education. A family friend suggested she look at Richard Bland College, which Amanda said “feels like my hometown.”

She is a first generation college student whose parents always told her to put her education first. “If you succeed in education then other things can come along with it.”
