Dr. Bjorkman’s main area of research is undergraduate mathematics peer tutoring. In her research, teaching, and oversight of the Mathematics and Science Tutoring Center at RBC she seeks to understand the many physical, social, cultural, and cognitive influences at play when a student is learning mathematics in an undergraduate setting. Her background, including degrees in pure mathematics (BS, MS), cognitive psychology (BS), and mathematics and science education (PhD), allows her to consider her work of teaching and research from a diversity of theoretical and practical perspectives.
